Mark Sampson is obsessed with the trial of Harold Looney, apparent murderer and monster, but Mark is obsessed mostly because he believes it to be a farce.
He is living in a beautiful appartment but seems to have come into it by peculiar means, CS alludes to many things in the first few paragraphs which gripped me into the story very quickly. How she makes a dining room chair and a cup of tea become so spooky is masterful.
However, other goings on, some intensley gory, make this story stand out from your usual ghostly tale. There are some suberb twists and bites as the story unfolds.
The ending is delicious and very satisfying. One of my favourite ghost stories!
